National Lottery Funding for Counselling Service
We are delighted that we have received a grant from the National Lottery Emergency Coronavirus Community Fund to support our members’ free Counselling Service for the next 12 months. The service, which has no waiting list, provides personal Counselling to any registered member who’s struggling emotionally.
Survey on Impact of COVID19 on Mental Health in ACC
AMEND is undertaking a year-long study into the impact of COVID-19 on the mental health of those who live with ACC in the UK. New Scientist Insert Article on ACC
ACC Support recently worked with Health Awareness on the 2020 Rare Disease campaign. A printed publication was enclosed within every copy of the New Scientist and the content is available online at https://bit.ly/35OVrCe . The campaign featured exclusive content from key thought leaders and, discussed the impact and sign and symptoms of Adrenocortical Cancer (ACC).
EURINE-ACT Study Results Published in The Lancet
The results of the prospective EURINE-ACT study were published in The Lancet at 11:30pm on Thursday 23rd July, 2020. The study, led by Professor Wiebke Arlt (IMSR Birmingham), involved 14 specialist centres in 11 countries, and 2169 participants (recruited between 2011 and 2016). It has been successful in validating a new urine steroid metabolomics test for earlier diagnosis of ACC. On Saturday 26th November 2016, ACC Support UK, in collaboration with ENS@T (the European Network for the Study of Adrenal Tumours), invites all patients and carers affected by adrenocortical cancer to our second free patient information event. There is a great opportunity to attend a series of short scientific presentations in the morning which form part of the ENS@T meeting.
